Joshua Johnson is an English mentalist who spent many years working in the shadows on other people’s products before stepping out on his own. He is probably best known for his work within the bizarre magic community.

His performance journey started on stage, working cabaret and burlesque shows before shifting to close-up work. Joshua is an experienced reader, having worked psychic fairs, flea markets, the home psychic party market, steampunk events, and more. Much of his work has been blurring the lines between magic and mentalism, with a focus on the paranormal.

Joshua has a passion for magic history and enjoys tracing effects back to their source. This comes from a background in history, having studied it at university. He stepped back from performing due to family and health problems but still makes props, writes routines, and is increasingly enjoying a role advising people on his former bizarre specialties. His passion, though, remains pushing the boundaries of what our performance art can achieve.
